Boa noite.

Ola Pedro,

tutto bem? I am german and currently working in England as a landscape architect and looking for some work in Portugal, as my partner lives in Portugal. Is there any institution in Portugal to look for jobs? Hows the current situation? Would be great to get some advise.
Obrigado Nicole

Hi Pedro
Thanks for your reply. Well here is very easy to get work as a landscape architect because there aren't many of us and tere is some demand in the industry...however the work can be quite boring as budgets get cut all the time and we end up having to design with almost no money at all...other times it is hard to convince people that they need green belts and soft landscape to replace large extensions of concrete...
I am also very interested in green belts and urban design...i am much better at large scale master planning thatn at designing little details and matching materials..that 'bores me to death'...
I think Australia is very conservative when it comes to design inovation and we get 'stuck' with boring outcomes.
cheers
Isabel

Hi Pedro
How is the profession in Portugal?
I am actually Portuguese (Lisbon) however i moved to Australia a long time ago and studied landscape in Sydney and now i am working and living in Darwin (top end of Australia) as a landscape architect.
I have seen some good stuff coming out of Portugal (in magazines) in landscape and architecture.
Cheers.
isabel
